In case you hadn’t heard, the Pirate Bay, famous for thumbing their noses at the MPAA and other such organizations, was raided by Swedish police this week. The US government sat down with the Swedes and asked them to have a little “chit-chat” with the server operators regarding the legality of the content. Of course, a few days later the Pirate Bay is back up and running and business is back to normal. Well, most of it.
I’m waiting for the pirates to update the blog. I’m quite interested to hear what’s happened the last few days.
yayi was just wondering about that. where’s was i going to download my wrestling???
mandatory subject lines are gayRumour has it that TPB’s isp, PRQ, was owned by exactly the same people as TPB.’Instead of just taking TPB’s servers as the warrant allowed, they took all servers hosted by the same hosting provider [www.prq.se] . Most likely to make an (illegal) example, trying to make the hosting provider go bankrupt and instill fear in other hosting providers. About 200 legitimate businesses in Sweden are down right now because of this.’- Don’t you just love how the MPAA/RIAA are inciting foreign countries to break their own laws all in the name of copyright?
TPB: I wept.Perfect. I was using TPB during the week prior to the disconnect like a two bit whore. Thanks to those swedes, I got backups of every album I’ve ever owned, averted spending money on movies It turned out I hated, and went to ones or bought DVDs for the good ones I previewed. If the MPAA would just recognize that there’s a lot of us that want our money back after putting out shit film after shit film and gladly taking our money. I’m T-H-U (thoo) spending money on shit product, Hollywood. Now, TPBs re-routed through Russia, Ukraine, Holland, and soon to be more EU and other countries. They cut the head off the snake, but 25 heads are popping up in place.
