Ironic Death = Caption Time!

[ Tree Fiendishly Murders Environmentalist ]

TULSA – Blake Champlin, a Tulsa lawyer and environmental activist, died Monday at his home when a tree supporting a hammock fell and crushed him.

Champlin, 45, died instantly, said Gerald Hilsher, an attorney with Shipley & Kellogg, Champlin’s former law firm.

All right, you know the drill. Start your captioning….. NOW! I’ll start.

The tree just wanted to hug him back.
     or…

  4. New Update – More InfoHere is more info I found on this story:A Tulsa lawyer and environmental activist was killed Monday when a tree fell on him while he was in a hammock in his back yard, police said. Police believe that Blake Champlin, 45, died instantly when one of the trees his hammock was strung between fell and crushed him at his home at 6720 E. 97th St., Sgt. Tim Bracken said. Champlin’s wife called 911 about 6 p.m, Bracken said. His wife came out to give him a bottle of water and saw the fallen tree, Bracken said. She called the Fire Department, but it was too late, he said. The tree, which was so large that detectives couldn’t put their arms around it, had been topped off at about 20 feet and was rotten inside, Bracken said. \”Bugs had got into it, but you know the outside of it looked good,\” he said. \”It’s not necessarily anything that he did wrong.\”
