Jim's Top 7 Reasons Why Phone Companies Must Be Destroyed
7. It seems like area codes are being split every week. Who lives in what area code? I have no idea.
I must say I agree, my ISP is right down the street, but now they have a new damn area code. --Sharkey
6. Most pay phones cost 35 cents for 3 minutes on a local call. Of course, hardly anything is a local call anymore because every block has a different area code. You need to have a bucket of coins to call anywhere.
5. Payphones are so damn expensive that everyone is getting cell phones. Of course, cell phones cost a fortune to use on weekdays, and you can understand the person you're talking to only about half the time.
4. Phone companies are now charging to call information. <^>(|0..0|)<^>
Again, I agree. Like I need to pay a quarter for two seconds of some bitch operator's time to type in "Papa John's Pizza". --Sharkey
3. People use calling cards because pay phones are so expensive, so now you get to dial about 100 digits to make a call.
2. The phone companies started Caller ID. You had to order Caller ID Blocking so that your number wouldn't be identified while calling someone with Caller ID. Of course if your'e like me, you ordered Caller ID Blocking but had people with Caller ID telling you that your number was being displayed anyway.
I didn't have the heart to tell Jim that this is all a big scam put out by THE MAN to keep us down and he fell for it. Oh well, he'll know now. --Sharkey
1. There's no question that this is #1. After bringing us Caller ID & Caller ID Blocking, now comes Anonymous Call Rejection (nicknamed the "block the blocker" service). This penalizes those who want to keep their numbers private by not allowing their calls to go through. Does anyone know where I can buy the "Trace-buster-buster-buster" from the movie "The Big Hit"?
Again, a trap set up by THE MAN. And I won't comment on why Jim saw the Marky Mark movie, he's a projectionist so maybe he had to. --Sharkey
